At The Brogue Trader we understand that for a true Gentlemen, a well-fitting, long lasting shoe goes without saying.
It’s like a mark of refinement and a statement of personal pride in one’s appearance. A handmade welted shoe goes beyond mere items of apparel, they are the creation of a master craftsman, expressing the social standing of the wearer whilst simultaneously providing the delicate structure of the feet with optimum protection from the stress and strain of every-day life.
Hand-made shoes are also a work of art in leather, designed for the distinctive feet of the individual taste of the fashion-conscious gentleman.
That is why at the Brogue Trader we only stock the very best shoes available to the modern man. From British historic brands such as Loake Shoemakers, Crockett & Jones, Trickers, Joseph Cheaney & Son, Sebago, Herring and Oliver Sweeney. We also stock complementing accessories from other historic British brands such as DENTS, world renowned makers of gloves and fine leather goods established 1777, Corgi Hosiery, the world renowned sock makers founded in 1892 and awarded the Royal Warrant by The Prince of Wales and of course James Ince & Son who since 1808 have been making completely by hand the country’s finest gentleman’s umbrellas using materials such as ivory, brass, whalebone and wood.
The business was established in 2013 by the Macnamara family and its first store originated in the Welsh capital of Cardiff. From here the business has grown to 10 stores based in some of the finest market towns and cities that Great Britain has to offer. However, growth in the business has not allowed service levels to diminish, as the clients experience and service levels are now more important to the Macnamara family than ever before.
At The Brogue Trader we don’t just understand the importance of well-made shoes and the provence surrounding the heritage of the brands we represent, but also the back bone of what retailing is all about and that is clearly that the customer is king. Once inside the elegant and comfortable surroundings of any of our stores, you will be welcomed by the aroma of the fine British handmade leather goods and the shine from the rich wooden clad wall paneling, whilst relaxing and enjoying a traditional coffee as you browse.
